Britta brand rice appeared in Poland in 1992. It was the first bagged rice available in Poland. Originally, its sales were conducted under a German license. Since 2003, the brand has been owned by Sawex Sp. z o.o., and since 2004 it has been confectioned at its own manufacturing plant in Koscierzyna. The name Britta comes from the German version of the female name Brigida. Genealogically, it is a name of Celtic origin synonymous with strength, greatness, power and dignity.
